An ESC or Speed Control needs to be able to handle the amps and volts the motor uses with a specific prop. You want the ESC to have a BEC built in to give power to your servos. Some ESCs also need an additional BEC. Read the reviews of the products as you make your decisions. Link to Hobby King 40-80 amp ESCs. (2-3X) SERVOS - STANDARD SIZE
We use standard sized servos for all of our planes using the 35XX motors. We do not have a favorite servo of this size so please read the reviews as you make your choice. Be aware of the servo weight. Try to keep servo weight 50-60 gms.so your plane isn't too heavy. There are a lot of batteries brands out there. We use 11.1 volt 3S or 3 cell batteries but if you want to go faster, use 4S or 6S batteries, ESCs and props. You need to make sure your motor, battery and ESC are matched. You can use two batteries with a Y connector to get more battery in your plane. Keep your plane light for the best performance. Look at the battery C rating not just cost. A 2200 mah 3S battery with a 20 C rating is much weaker than a 2200 mah 3S battery with a 40 C rating. (2200 mah X 20C = 44 amps peak output, 2200 mah X 40C = 88 amps peak output) Different battery brands come with different plugs. We prefer the XT60 Plugs to connect our ESCs to our batteries and use 3.5mm bullet plugs to connect ESC to motors. Some of the batteries below will have red bullet plug connectors which work well but you have to have the same plug on your ESC. My favorite brands of lipo battery are Graphine and Pulse but I have had good performace from Turnigy and Rino and many other brands. Their C rating may lower but seem to have the same power of other brands with higher C ratings. 11.1 volt options shown many other options available Ebay Graphine Batteries Ebay Pulse Batteries Hobby King 3 cell 2500 - 6000 mah 25C+ lipo batteries |
