The 58" Grim Reaper is our biggest plane that is designed for higher performance FPV but is still built for combat. We have Grim Reapers flying in combat every week. This is a great combination if you are planning on flying in wild country with your camera on board because the plane will help to protect your camera equipment and the plane is tough enough you can keep flying when most other FPV planes need repair.
The Grim Reaper has a 58" span, 693 square inches or 4.8 square feet of solid EPP not just an EPP leading edge. The elevons are also EPP making them almost bullet proof.
It has a thinner wing with a deeper cord. It is designed to fly with a bigger motor and bigger batteries for powered flight but can also be built as a slope soarer and penetrate turbulent air on the slope. It is amazing how far this plane can glide. If you start your approach at 100 yards away and 15 feet high you can still hit your self in the belly button.
One of our FPV customers told us this is his plane of choice for FPV because of the wide speed range of the plane. He has some long distance radio equipment and this 80 mph cruise speed of this plane with the 35-30A 1700 motor lets him cover more ground faster on the same amount of battery as his slower planes and the high lift wing still allows him to slow down for the landing. This plane has a wingspan of nearly 5 feet making it a great choice for the flier with a payload or a combat attitude. We are also seeing fliers putting lots of LEDs on them for night flying
The 58" Grim Reaper comes with 100% EPP cores, EPP elevons, 16 gauge custom motor mounts, laminate, shock cord, 2 horns, ez connectors push rods and rod guides. This kit now comes stock with 6 fiberglass spars.
